Honouring Tradition: The 2026 $2 'C' Mintmark Dawn Service Coloured Uncirculated Coin in Card

Every year on 25 April, Australians across the country gather in the early morning stillness to honour the sacrifice of our brave servicemen and servicewomen. The Dawn Service remains one of our most solemn national traditions, tracing its origins back to the military practice of 'stand-to' during the First World War. To mark this enduring legacy, the Royal Australian Mint has released a magnificent new collectible: the Dawn Service 2026 $2 'C' Mintmark Coloured Uncirculated Coin in Card.

A Masterpiece in Design and Craftsmanship

This stunning $2 coloured coin captures the poignant silence before first light. The reverse design displays vivid colours showing the sun breaking over the ocean horizon, casting soft light over a lone soldier standing in quiet contemplation on a headland. Accented by vibrant red poppies—the universal emblem of remembrance—the central design is complemented by the sought-after 'C' mintmark, denoting its minting location in Canberra.

The obverse of the coin features the official effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, designed by Daniel Thorne, marking another historical milestone in Australian numismatics.
